We Make the Plans - You Make the Putts
Are you looking for stay and play golf packages? The Penn Ohio Golf Trail features over 80 courses, including 15 private country clubs in Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. The courses offer a variety of challenges, designers, style and appeal for golfers of all skill levels.
The four historic mansions on the trail offer the most unique lodging in golf. Sleeping up to 30 golfers, the mansions have large gathering areas, big screen TV's, pool tables, shuffle boards, bocce/pickleball courts, full kitchens, and the ability to share the camaraderie and fun that isn't available in other types of lodging.
What are the must play courses in Penn Ohio Golf Trail?
The variety of courses is what completes the perfect golf package. From award winning courses like Olde Stonewall and Boulder Creek, private country clubs like Avalon Lakes, Youngstown Country Club and Lake View Country Club, to well maintained and challenging public courses, the perfect golf package can be created.
What services or information do you provide for traveling golfers?
What makes the stay and play packages unique at the Penn Ohio Golf Trail is that each package is built to fit the needs of each group and its members. With lodging in Youngstown/Warren, Canton, Cleveland, Erie, and Butler, PA there are many areas to explore. Each of these areas offers its own characteristics and golf courses. Groups are able to work with an expert from the Trail that helps build a package using the wide variety of options available.
What is the hidden gem and/or best value course?
We always offer our groups the best value we can with a package price per person that includes their lodging, golf, taxes & fees, and typically the price will include their breakfast as well depending on where they choose to stay.
Our favorite gems on the trail include courses designed by Donald Ross - Mill Creek offers 36 holes and Manakiki is another!
Can you provide our readers with an ideal itinerary for a long weekend?
With over 80 courses to choose from, including 15 private clubs, the itinerary is completely customizable to the groups needs. We can plan a trip around a specific area, course, lodging, budget, etc.
An ideal package in the Youngstown area would include lodging at one of the mansions, and golfing Avalon Lakes, Youngstown Country Club, and Pine Lakes Golf Club.
After golf, what are the "must do" things or attractions to see?
We offer our golf groups a travel guide with everything they will need to make the most of their golf trip on the Penn Ohio Golf Trail. Our guides will list things to do, places to eat, and ways to elevate their golf trip experience.
What is the best time to travel?
We book packages all year round, mainly late April to mid-October but it all depends on the weather.
We also offer winter packages including lodging and indoor simulator time.

About: Brian Weis
While Brian Weis has made a name for himself in the golf world, he also appreciates the finer things in life—like a world-class spa treatment after a grueling 18 holes (or even after a casual round where the only thing working hard was his golf cart). A self-proclaimed "golfer who enjoys relaxation more than practice," Brian has developed a deep appreciation for massages that unknot his questionable swing mechanics, saunas that sweat out a few too many post-round drinks, and infinity pools with views as stunning as a well-manicured par 3.
Brian’s spa journey began as a reluctant tag-along to couples' massages and resort spa packages but quickly evolved into a full-fledged appreciation for hot stone therapy, deep-tissue recovery, and the occasional seaweed wrap (don’t knock it till you try it). Now, he seeks out the best spa retreats, thermal baths, and relaxation havens wherever his travels take him—whether it's a luxury golf resort with a five-star spa or a hidden wellness gem perfect for unwinding in style.
On SpaTrips.com, Brian shares his experiences, reviews, and insider tips on the best places to soothe sore muscles, indulge in rejuvenating treatments, and find true relaxation—whether you're a hardcore golfer in need of recovery or just someone looking for the ultimate escape. After all, what’s the point of a bucket list golf trip if you can’t top it off with an expert massage, a hot soak, and maybe even a ridiculously plush robe"
